LibreOffice
LibreOffice is a suite of office programs similar to Microsoft’s suite, although with no cost and a somewhat similar learning curve for all of the packages included.
Krita
Krita is a free art program available for Windows and Mac, as well as being available on most linux distributions from either the command line or the website itself.
Linux Distros
Parrot Security/Home
Parrot Security OS is a Debian based distro focused on giving the user both a desktop they can use daily, along with various cracking and pen testing tools.
Parrot Home generally has similar features to Parrot Security, but it lacks pen testing tools and also comes with a KDE Plasma 5 version.
Linux Mint
Linux Mint is a Ubuntu based distro that comes pre-installed with a different desktop look and feel, and proprietary softwares like Java and Flash, and the inclusion of three different desktop choices (MATE, Cinnamon, and Xfce).
Ubuntu
The one and only Ubuntu, a secure boot compatible distro with a much less complicated desktop environment. Based off of Debian, this much more new-user friendly distro allows an easier transition from more mainstream operating systems like Apple’s MacOS and Windows 10.
